Zora Neale Hurston

Zora Neale Hurston Festival 2015

The Zora Neale Hurston festival was amazing. Lots of people enjoying the culturally rich heritage this historic town has to offer with sunny weather, lively entertainment, and great food. Different vendors sold art and clothing and many other products, while attendees grooved to the music of Maze featuring Frankie Beverly. Another wonderful annual celebration of a great icon, Zora Neale Hurston has come and gone and I can not wait till next year. Pictured is the town’s historic welcome sign, museum, and library.

ZORA! Festival 2015

Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 9:00 AM - Sunday, February 1, 2015 at 8:00 AM (PST) Eatonville, FL

My family and I will be heading to our hometown of Eatonville Florida for the annual Zora Neale Hurston Festival in two weeks. When is the last time you attended a festival like this? The opportunity to learn the rich culture of a great American folklorist and author and to be in the center of the African ancestry, education, and cultural arts that this town has to offer. It’s more than just a festival for my family and I, it’s my own family’s history. To say always remember where you come from is an understatement, this is my family’s home, this is my background. I’ll be there, will you? Find your tickets here.

Wedding Planners Pros and Cons

Aphrodite INK and Wedding Planners Pros and Cons

So I stumbled across this article online and the header instantly catches your eyes. It explains the good and the bad from hiring a wedding planner. Today I was at a dance studio with my sister, a friend from work and my best friend from high school, whose younger sister was choreographing a dance for us. She’s just like a little sister to me so I was honored when she hinted at the fact that since I found my calling in life she will no longer have to worry about the stress of planning her wedding on her own, having been recently engaged at the end of last year. So I was thrilled that she thought of me and I thought this article would be very helpful for others.

Media at an Event

Aphrodite INK and using media at an event

I ran into a few technical issues and setbacks during the End of the Year Bash back in December. Slideshows would freeze up, pictures wouldn’t load correctly due to vague #Hashtags, and people couldn’t remember how or where to find their pictures after the event. My crew and I had to repost messages via Instagram and Facebook to help them find pictures from that night. Let’s just say after all that hassle I was not posing for another picture for quite a while. Seeing that I have another event coming up shortly, this post from Emily Sandelands on Eventup gives us some great planning ideas on How to Best Use Social Media at Your Next Event. https://eventup.com/blog/how-to-best-use-social-media-at-your-next-event/
